i own a few psa 8's of this card and while they have gone for as high as $40, i never paid over $15 for mine. this is just flat out nuts for a card which books at a few bucks raw.

This is one of the vintage topps sets that are the hardest to grade.

not only do you have player collectors, you also have set collectors fighting over this.

A psa 8 of nolan ryan was close to $500 with 30 minutes left yesterday. You could get the same card raw for under $50.

Is PSA 8 the magic number? Would you have the same amount of people fighting over it if it was a lower graded PSA card?

8's garner a nice premium for 60's and 70's cards but they really goes nuts when the grade is a 9 or higher.
