Porcello is on the mound for the Tigers' home opener starting in a few minutes here. I can't wait to watch.

Here's an article from MLB.com about it: Link

Great start for Porcello, gives up an infield single, gets a K, Laird cannons out Cabrera trying to steal second, and then Porcello gets another K to end the inning. Sure does look cold in Detroit though.

Two Ks for Porcello after 1

Hafner just turned on one, I remember him absolutely cranking a homer off Porcello last year...this one barely made it out, but a homer nonetheless :x

Porcello gets a double play. Just hit 96 on the gun too, good to see him dialing it up to the mid 90s this early in the year.

And that's all for Porcello, 5 solid innings of work and in line for the win if Detroit can hold onto the lead. He didn't look great and his command wasn't as good as usual, but I'd call it a promising start especially in cold weather. Only ball that was really hit hard against him was the homer by Hafner

Zumaya gets some big outs and a double play to get out of Coke's two on, no out jam. Zumaya has looked good hitting triple digits all spring and so far this season...he may be back to form which is what Detroit needs from him.

Brandon Morrow looking shaky so far

To say the least.

Hell of a pitcher's duel. Bergesen and Morrow combined for 67 pitches, 6 runs, 4 hits, and 5 walks in the first inning.

Oh, and Brian Roberts is out of the game. Is he hurt?

EDIT: LOL. And then Bergesen gets out of the second on three pitches. Single, DP, popout. Of course.

B. Rob has been hurt for a couple weeks. Tweeked his back in ST.
Probably shouldn't even have attempted to start the season.

*Reports are Ab Strain.

Morrow and Bergesen both settled down big time after that rough first. Morrow has basically cruised since. :D

and never mind. Travis Snider botches a flyball by Markakis into a double, and Tejada homers right after. :benson:

Jonathan Sanchez has not looked good today. His stuff is good there's just no control. 65 pitches through 3 innings. At least the Giants scouts were watching last nights Atlanta game. Heyward has struck out twice on breaking pitches in the dirt.

Hudson on the other hand is throwing darts. Perfect so far.
