YGs are pretty affordable, but is BD still doing the "SP's" for their base rc's?

Is Black Diamond as a line going to keep going?

seems that the line is pretty popular with the rc's

I've never really liked Black Diamond. YG are one of my favs. There are some SP's (quad diamonds) that usually sell pretty good but watch out for chipping.

Black Diamond still has the SP RCs. The Top rookies each year (This year guys like Tavares, Hedman, Myers, Duchense etc.) are the quad diamonds as are the leagues superstars and legends (Players like Crosby, Ovechkin, Iginla, Gretzky, Howe etc.). They fall two quad diamonds per box on average. One quad diamond will be a RC, the other quad diamond is a superstar or legend.

Black diamond does have their fair amount of collectors (I personally do like BD), but they are not close in popularity to the Young Guns.

I prefer Young Guns over Black Diamond rookies. Young Guns are a sharper looking card and just have a mystique about them that BD doesn't have. as far as selling is concerned I think YG's has better name recognition among non-hardcore collectors so they will always sell better than BD's. plus like Jared said BD's have too many chipping issues and don't scan very well.

I too prefer the Young Guns. Black Diamond is a unique set and I rather enjoy it, but if I had the choice of one or the other I would take the base UD RC.

I agree with everyone else. Young guns are prefered compared to Black Diamond. However, I think the Ruby Parallels /100 are very sharp looking cards, and I prefer those over the Young Gun.

Doing the Black Diamond rainbow of the color parallels is a sharp event as well.
