I unknowingly began the Topps run about a year ago when I picked up the 1970 in a trade and then got the Sweet Spot shortly thereafter. Bob Gibson has always been one of my favorite pitchers of all time and the master of "The Stare" in my opinion. When I decided to do Topps player runs a few months back, he was next on my list after I did the Tony Conigliaro to see if I would like this route and I have to say I'm a fan of it. I don't include the A.S. or L.L. cards in the run, just the regular base card. I've included a few odds and ends I've picked up as well. I only look for mid grade as they look good enough for me and it saves money for other cards. About 5 were cracked out of PSA holders and 2 out of BVG holders. I'm probably going to move the Sweet Spot since I've got two autos of his and have it go towards the second card of the three for 2010 I want.

I'm thinking I'm going to do the Bowman Pee Wee Reese run next since I've already got his '53 and '54 and just need his '49-'52. Of course, I'll have to get his '41 Play Ball RC as well down the road. Enjoy!

(Scanner looks like it cropped off some of the edges but no biggie.)

Very Nice Bob Gibson card run! Congrats. GL with the Pee Wee Reese card run, looking forward to seeing cards of one of the greatest shortstops to play the game. The 53' Bowman color is one the best looking Bowman card ever.

Thanks! The Reese shouldn't be too bad to do, at least in regards to the Bowman. I'm thinking about the Topps but not likely. I definitely have to get his '41 Play Ball though. I mean, what's a Reese collection without that card? :D

I've got my eyes on my next pickup for 2010 though, the T206 Johnson Portrait. In regards to eye appeal, it's my favorite out of the T206 set. I'll post a scan whenever that happens!
