I have decided to part ways with my Brett Anderson collection and focus on my other collections right now. Brett was my 1st "prospecting" venture but I became attached and started hoarding all I could get. Well I missed my 1st opportunity to seize a nice payout on these and now my 2nd chance has arrived. So my question to you guys:

1: Sell as one small collection
2: Singles (would take forever)
3: Groups of the same card

4: BINs or auctions

Thanks for any advice in advance. Oh and I added the majority of the collection

Re: Huhhh! The time has come: Brett Anderson Collection

Do 10-card lots of the base stuff. maybe 2-3 card lots of some lower refractors.

Gotta sell the high-end stuff solo. I'd do $0.99 auctions, since the insertion fees are waived.

First I'd post what you've got on FCB and see if anyone is interested in some of it so you can avoid fees.

I'd list base chromes in lots of 10 and elite autos in small lots of 3-5.

Everything else I would list individually, but if I were you I wouldn't list 10 elite autos/50 at once because you will flood the market and you probably won't do as well money wise.

Good luck, I might be interested in a couple things.... By any chance moving some of your Olmos collection? ;)

I sold an anderson sweetspot silver/65 the other day for 25 dlvd pretty happy with that I think you will do really well. I agree with the others list them in lots of 10 for base and let everything else ride at .99

Wow, what a collection...I think I lost count after 15 of the red status autos

Definitely post on the FCB transactions board first because with eBay's constantly rising fees, you are missing out on 10-20% of the final sale value of your listings every time you sell on ebay. This will save you fees and get you more money in the end, even if it means you sell for 5% less than you would be able to on ebay.

If you take the time to list stuff individually, you will likely be rewarded...but with a collection this big, that may be tough to do. Keep in mind that he is no longer a prospect, so now you will be selling to collectors for the most part. While there are some exceptions, I think that most collectors are not interested in obtaining a large number of the exact same card. Keep this in mind when listing lots.

Also remember not to flood the market when you list because that will negatively affect your sale prices.

If you have more than one of something, you can list it with a BIN/BO as a quantity auction. This will save you some time and money since you'll only have to list one of each thing instead of many.

I think 99 cent auctions are probably the best way to go for anything that you are confident will bring in more now than you paid for it. If you are not confident about this, I would go with BIN/BO and make sure you get the price you want.

And unless you are dead-set on getting rid of everything, I'd hold onto a few things just in case he happens to turn into a superstar pitcher and his prices keep rising. That way you can get a piece of that action as well.

Good luck with the sales, this really is an impressive collection.

thank you. I am probably going to hold onto the Elite Prime Patches and the USA patches as I have hopes of getting them all  I know high hopes but I am getting there.

Staggered listings over the next month or so:

1. Single auction style listing of the low-mid-range items.
2. Maybe some lots...those seem to be selling well right now.
3. BIN/BO on the tough cards

You don't want to flood the market and if he continues to go up, you will keep selling at higher prices.
