One real umpire's ruling outweighs four wannabe's. Even though the runner was clearly safe.

The last one is Dan Gladden on the radio...easily the best of the four.

We were watching at the bar that night & first thing I said was, you know it's a bad call when the Twins didn't even want to leave the field. They all kind of stood around for a minute like "what just happened".

another reason to install the 5th Ump, one up there in the box that can see the replay in 5 seconds, just like everyone else did.
No need to run instant replay and take as long as football to review a call - just a 5th ump that can correct things like this, quickly. It could have been such a fast turnover that the next batter would have been up long before any manager would have left the field after arguing.
How is that not implemented yet?

I'd like to see this as well, but only when there is a call that is clearly wrong. If it's a tie, the call on the field should stand. But things like this are just so blatantly wrong that it makes it seem crazy that they haven't put instant replay on their side yet.

When will MLB start fining and suspending umpires for doing a terrible job??? And when is arrogance taught to the umpires?

Just brutal.

Especially in this case where it is so clearly a case of an umpire who wants to go home.

Exactly. I understand human error and bang bang plays, but when he clearly sees the call and calls it incorrectly; some sort of punishment is necessary.

Until this happens, some umpires, like Greg Gibson, are going to think that they are above the game.

Absolutely BRUTAL !!! :|

Exactly, this is what really pisses me off. Some umpires think that they are above the game and that they are the law. The game is about the players, not the umpires.
