Hi. I want to take the fam to Cleveland for the Detroit series from July 16 to 18. I'm hoping some of my FCB brothers can help me with some good places to stay and things to do while we are there. The Friday and Saturday games are 7:00PM starts and the Sunday game is a 1:00PM start. I also think that the game that was rained out two days ago will probably be scheduled for this weekend as well because this weekend is immediately after the All Star break.

My girls are 9 and 8 and my boy is 6. If you can tell me good places to stay, eat, things to do and advice on tickets, I would greatly appreciate it.

And by the way, does anyone know what hotel the visitors stay at when they visit Cleveland? Thanks in advance.

Theres a grille right across the street from the park that is EXCELLENT. Lots of memorabilia on the walls to talk about and really cool atmosphere. Its better for lunch before a game as its less crowded.

Visitors have the 1st base dugout.

Make sure to check out Heritage Park in center field. Basically a mini HOF for Indians. Pretty cool IMO, even if you aren't a Tribe fan.

Progressive Field Tours
Monday through Saturday every hour from 10:30 am until 1:30 pm (Excluding day games, special events, and holidays)
Cost: $7.50 for adults; $5.50 for children (14 and under) and senior citizens (60 and over)

I usually stay here- http://www.cleveland.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/index.jsp

My favorite craft brewery, and good food- http://www.greatlakesbrewing.com/

Neat, especially for kids- http://www.greatscience.com/

Not sure if your kids are old enough to appreciate, but cool nonetheless- http://rockhall.com/

Maybe someone knows for sure, but I was told visitors stay here- http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/c ... and-hotel/

I would avoid the Flats. Used to be fun, now it's pretty dirty and sucks.

Hope that helps!

Vizquel, thank you for the info. My wife was interested in the Science Museum and I initially shrugged my shoulders so your comments help with this.

I definitely will check out Great Lakes Brewery. I love going to microbreweries.

I want to go to the RnR HOF but I am also concerned about it not being great for the kids. I may have to run off and do that one myself while my wife goes to the Science museum with the kids.

In the meantime, I am going to take a closer look at all of the links you provided.

One last thought, can anyone recommend a Mom and Pop restaurant that would be within 3 miles of downtown Cleveland? Maybe something in an ethnic neighborhood - I don't know, something unique.

Take the GLBC tour as well.

What type of Mom & Pop restaurant? There are a TON of great ethnic restaurants in Cleveland...
