The 2010 College Regular Season is in the books! Conference tournaments start this week. MLB Draft 2 weeks from today!
Bryce Harper adds to his "legend" this past weekend, hitting for the cycle then following that with a 4 HR game to lead CSN to the JUCO World Series...
Draft coverage starting to really crank up now...

....his total stat line for the weekend: 18-for-22 with 5 2B’s, 2 3B’s, 5 HR’s and 18 RBI’s; there’s no question Harper is going 1.1, the only question that remains is how much it’s going to cost the Nationals…

If you'd told me a few weeks ago that Harper could conceivably cost the Nats more than Strasburg I'd have said "no way".

After this past weekend, I'm not so sure.

Yes, unlike the regular season he was using aluminum bats this time, but still.......

His stats are impressive but now this does change alot more then you would think. it is good that he played the reg season with a wood bat but kinda crappy that he switched to a aluminum bat for the playoffs just to boost his stats so he would be paid more. You cant say that he is using a aluminum bat for any other reason then to win the championship an get huge numbers so he is for sured the #1 pick an he then can sign for more then the previous 1st overall pick.

So what's your point, that he wants to do too well? That hew want to make alot of cash?

What in the world are you talking about?

He is using metal bats because in the playoffs they play teams that use metal bats. The field gets leveled because they aren't going to make metal bat schools all the sudden switch to wood. There are many reasons for this (player comfort, money, etc...) but it has nothing to do with Harper trying to "boost his stats". He is using what is required and it's still impressive to hit 4 HR's, even with metal.

Next time you're playing ball, if you do, see how well you square up four pitches, coming at least 85 MPH, and hit them at least 325 feet.
