His Swing Mechanics are all out of wack. Saw him in Scranton, he's moving his bat all over the place like big Tex does. Montero had a calm stance like Miguel Cabrera last year, someone messed him up this year.

Just like how you were laughing last summer with the lack of Stanton threads when Stanton started off batting .230 in AA...oh wait, that situation turned out good.

Stanton was still hitting for power while Montero's power has disappeared.

Stanton was still hitting for power while Montero's power has disappeared.

And he was also striking out in a third of his at bats...a la Greg Halman, Cody Johnson, Michael Burgess. Point being...everyone has a valley, even Stanton, even Montero.

It's not even two months in and people are writing this guy off? He has perhaps the best overall hitting tools of any hitter left in the minors - including Stanton.

Are we also writing off players who have had bad starts in the majors? Teixiera? Mauer? Pablo?

Assuming Stanton gets the call he is the odds on favorite for #1 overall prospect. I asked Callis the other day about the top catchers - he picked Montero over everyone, including Harper, Santana and Posey.
