Happy B-Day Z! Time for some mail...

So Zambrano turned 29 today. Hopefully, he does well in his start tomorrow.

I got my 70th Derek Holland chrome auto in. My BGS grades also popped:

This one gets me one step closer to the rainbow. I have the base /499, gold /25, blue /15, emerald /5, and black /1 and still need the red /19 and the white /15.


I havn't been picking up his chromes, but I did pickup this Tristar 1/1 (yes Tristar!)
I also bought my 1st Castro game used item today (more on that next time )

I got my 2nd one of these a few weeks ago. Someone contacted me, and I was able to land my 3rd out of the 4 that exist.


He was nice enough to include this one for free.


The Caribes team wore these to honor Z. This one was team issused but never worn most likely because it is so small.


I got the road jersey in a few weeks ago after the seller had already sold the home jersey. The buyer of the home jersey was nice enough to contact me and sell it to me for what he paid (very nice guy).

So as I was searching for Castro game used, someone from Steiner emailed about some Z stuff (they signed an exclusive memorabilia deal with the Cubs this season). I was actually looking for this jersey and was hoping it would come up on MLB auctions. I was actually pretty happy with the price as I was able to use a 25% off coupon, and they sent me 2 $25 gift cards (the workers there seem to be very competitive, and I guess they want to gain my business). The jersey comes with MLB authentication and was worn on April 15, 2010 as Z pitched 5 innings, threw 121 pitches, gave up 3 ER with 7 Ks, and got a no decision. Since Z had been in the bullpen it is a lot harder to know what jerseys Z actually wore while pitching, I was very happy to add this jersey. I don't think Steiner washed the jersey so it is airing out right now. It shows very good use!

Up to 11 jerseys total (2 BP, 4 Venezuelan, 5 Cubs) and have one more coming.
