What do you think will happen? I'm thinking they will cut him. I don't believe any team will be willing to give up what Washington wants.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/20 ... ppen-soon/

Veteran Redskins beat writer David Elfin reports that coach Mike Shanahan has indicated that "news could happen soon" regarding no-show defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth.

Elfin speculates that he wouldn't be shocked if the Redskins cut Haynesworth.

If that happens, the Redskins will have a much harder time recovering bonus money from Haynesworth. At this point, however, they may not care.

Elfin also notes that Haynesworth has been blasted not only by teammate London Fletcher, but also by Phillip Daniels and Casey Rabach.

If Haynesworth is cut, we hope that the fans of every other team will be prepared to get out the torches and pitchforks if their favorite team signs this guy.

Cut or traded, for sure. Had a terrible first season on our team and is now acting like he singlehandedly won us the super bowl. I won't be sad to see him go.

With no cap, I bet Dallas will sign him....hell, the Jets have signed tons of players, why not add another?
I DO NOT want Dallas to sign him. I think Jerry is actually happy with the team moving forward and won't be picking up anybody new.

I hope this isn't the big news, because it's a bit of a letdown.

The Redskins have paid defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth $30 million dollars in less than 16 months. Now that Haynesworth has given the team the proverbial finger and refused to show up for a mandatory minicamp in the hopes of forcing a trade, the team plans to fight back.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Redskins will try to recover the $21 million paid to Haynesworth as of April 1. Earlier today, coach Mike Shanahan indicated that the team was willing to cut Haynesworth before he received the money, and that Haynesworth was told that once he took the money, the team expected him to play whatever position the team asked him to play.

Per the report, the NFLPA "assured" Haynesworth before he decided to take a stand that he'd be able to keep his money. (We hope the NFLPA is current on its insurance premiums.) Another source tells Schefter that the relevant terms of the labor deal are "open to interpretation," and that the egregious nature of Haynesworth's actions could influence the outcome in the team's favor.

The case will turn on the language of the contract and the forfeiture provisions of the CBA, which currently limits teams to the recovery of signing bonus money after a holdout or retirement.

We're in the process of tracking down the contract so that we can analyze the issues and explain them -- even though only 17 or so of you will care about the details.

Yeah  . PFT usually has some kind of funny line in their articles. I think it's why I go there rather than NFL.com. THey're a little more loose with reporting and still give the full story.

He'll want to go to a team playing a 4-3 so that should knock quite a few teams out of the running for him.

Yeah PFT is the National Enquirer of the NFL. A ton of their stories are for shock value and unfounded while a few are informative.
