Varitek to miss six weeks: Red Sox C Jason Varitek will miss six weeks after suffering a broken foot, according to the Boston Globe. Varitek was apparently injured fouling a ball off his foot during Wednesday's game against the Rays.

delcarmen on the DL makes us better.

otherwise this is just mind blowing. even our AAA catcher is hurt. i wish theo would take a flyer on one of our lower class guys... federowicz, exposito, lavarnway, etc...

something tells me doug mirabelli got a phone call today. ugh.
