Verlander vs. Liriano

I see Cabrera already got a hit tonight. He has a 17 game hit streak going.

Should be a great series before the All Star break.

Nut up or shut up time again.

I could easily see the Twins getting swept. They have no momentum, the starting pitching can barely make it through 5 innings, and no matter how well some have been hitting lately, you can't come from behind all the time. Of course I'm hopeful since it's only 2-0 early on. Go Twins!

7-0. I thought Liriano threw much better than his results. He made some nice pitcher's pitches that the Tigers hit anyway.

Verlander looks tough as nails tonight. It will be interesting to see if he keeps pitching around Thome like he did Thome's first at bat. Verlander talked with Tom Seaver recently. One of the things Seaver told him is to pitch smarter to certain batters. Thome has always hit Verlander well so that matchup should be interesting the rest of the night.
