I was debating which prewar set to have a card from. I do own a T206 already, but I wanted to know from the vintage collectors here, which one would you invest in if you chose between the two. Feel free to reply with your player choice from the set as well. Both sets are large and have numerous HOFers. I'd love to hear everyone's favorites. Thanks and any input is very appreciated.

That card is pure sweetness for a 2.5. I liked to pick up a HOFer for sure from the Old Judge set, but would have to keep it in low grade to stay in my collecting budget. I did my research on the set and Big Ed definitely stood out on the checklist of HOFers. Is there anywhere online outside of ebay to look for old judge cards? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

There is a big difference in demand by some...

If you collect N172, your NEVER going to be a Set Collector, you can be Type collector, collect HOFers, Spotted Ties, Team Sets, etc., But NEVER a complete set.

With cash, One can easily complete a T206 Set, including the Wagner..... The N172 can NEVER be completed as a Set, with all the $$ in the world.

IMO N172's blow away the extremely common T206's in importance. They are real photographs instead of drawings, and 20+ years older!

One of the cards I'd like to add to my vintage collection someday is an Old Judge Doggie Miller of the Pirates. Beatutiful cards!

They recently made a book solely dedicated to Old Judge cards. If you are seriously interested, there's a guy who sells them really cheap (they originally cost $125) on eBay. I got mine from him. It's called "The Photographic Baseball Cards of Goodwin & Company." It's an amazing book.
