ALEXANDRIA Minnesota--With the bases loaded and nobody out in the bottom of the eleventh and Brainerd Lakes Area leading, 9-7, Alexandria ran themselves into a game-ending triple play, the most chaotic ending to a game this season.

Chad Bunting, down in the count 0-2, swung at a high fastball, popping it up in front of the mound for an infield fly. The infield fly is an automatic out and it strips the base runners the responsibility of advancing on a force. However, as the ball bounced high on the field turf, the runner at third, Tim Roberson, broke home. David Allbritton, the Lunkers' catcher, secured the bouncing ball, broke towards the plate and applied the tag for the second out. The two remaining runners, Matt Lowenstein, who began at second, and Marcus Semien, who began at first, were both caught in between bases. Allbritton elected to go after the slower Lowenstein, as it was ultimately Allbritton, after a rundown, who applied the tag for the final out, completing the triple play.

None of this chaos would have been possible without Ryan Abrahamson. With the bases loaded in the ninth inning and the Lunkers trailing 5-2, Abrahamson laced a bases clearing double to left field, tying the game.

Just the part of the article that describes the play. I know there is a video of it out there...

Re: Brainerd Lunkers Turn Double Play

Crazy, yet exciting way to end a game!!!

Also, you need to change your title to "Triple Play"....
