Minor to start Monday

The Braves will re-call highly regarded pitching prospect Mike Minor to start Monday’s game against Houston after the Braves placed Kris Medlen on the disabled list Thursday with a partial tear of his ulnar collateral ligament in his right arm. Minor will pitch two innings tonight for Triple-A Gwinnett at Lehigh Valley before joining the Braves.
The Braves will also option Kenshin Kawakami to Gwinnett to make at least four starts in an effort to build up his stamina for a possible return to the rotation.
