Obviously, Arencibia's debut has not yet posted.

Players with 2 HRs in their major league debut: http://www.baseball-reference.com/play- ... reit/T4C5R

Players with 8 or more total bases in their major league debut (JP had 11, which is the new record): http://www.baseball-reference.com/play- ... reit/VkbA8

Players with 4 hits in their major league debut (the record is 5, by Cecil Travis in 1933): http://www.baseball-reference.com/play- ... reit/9aBrD

And in case you were wondering, Gary Ward hit for the cycle in his 14th MLB game, which is the earliest it has been accomplished (Arencibia needed a triple). It was on September 18th, 1980.

Funny thing is posted in the thread about this kid, that I'll list his cards so he can hit for the cycle
and he gets 2 homeruns and has 3 RBI instead. Nice stuff again Leatherman

I feel like such an idiot for not investing in him like I was going to a couple months back during spring training ::facepalm::

I pulled so many of his cards in 08 b w/ c. I think I'd have gotten more out of the red ref auto if I'd have held it until now. Still, 400 bucks doesn't seem bad, until now.

Thanks for sharing. And congrats to JP, i was watching the early innings of the game just to see him and i haven't been disapointed !!!

Could you imagine ? Bert Campaneris hits 79 home runs in his entire 19 seasons career, was recognized as a defensive wiz, but the guy smacked 2 home runs in his first game.
And he surprisingly hitted 22 in 1970...

You can't mention Campaneris without mentioning this game where he played all nine positions: http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes ... 9080.shtml

Also the first player to have 4 hits with 2 HRs in a debut in history. Already making history.

Can't wait for tomorrow....oh wait, Cito will sit him.
