If I had to guess they were may have been released with the Fleer bankruptcy if they were not on the original beckett checklist. I know beckett's checklist is FAR from complete but they seem to normally have sets like this in their entirety and I know I received a few cards that were not originally made for release in exchange for my redemptions.

That is a very sweet card regardless of print run. Mine is probably in my top five in my collection.

I'm slowly working on that set and I hadn't seen it before. It went for way more than I thought it would. I'd really like to see the back of that card....

I agree. I didn't think it would sell that high either.

he has a non GU card, #2 ......odd

I figured since he had regular one, he would have definitely had a GU version.

Not always the case. Production issues and licensing can always affect the outcome of a card packing out or not.

Back in 2002 wasn't he the Fleer Spokesman? It seemed like he was on every Fleer package and had a GU or Auto in every set.

Still doesn't matter. For example, find one of these cards:

I reported to Beckett back in 2002 that these were SP'd which they couldn't verify, so they listed it as "Perceived SP". I got an email from the product manager of that product who verified it, but don't know the exact amount. I think only 3 exist. I own this one and Rebelpawn owns one. The card suppose to be like the rest and was never mentioned as being short printed. Another example is the 2008 Topps Heritage Chrome Jerry Hairston base card #'d /1959.
