Every now and then a card gets listed that you want, and you get all giddy and set out to purchase it.

That joy turns into a nightmare when you realize that for one reason or another you can't bring yourself to purchase the card.

This is mine

I love the cards, I want the cards. But the seller is determined to get over market, and is holding until he can make that happen. That is certainly in his right, and sometimes I do the same thing.

Just a bit odd to be on the other side of the fence. ;)

Has been up since October 2009, hasn't come down in price at all. Probably worth less than 1/10 of what he's asking for it.

I've been trying to put together this patch set for a long time. I have over half of the patches (#ed to 25), but the autos almost never get listed. My guess is that most of them are still in unopened boxes. In the past 2 years, only this card and a Phil Hughes auto have been on ebay. The Hughes came when he was hot and I couldn't pay what they were asking. I offered $100 on the Clemens over a year ago, but I wouldn't pay more than $50 now. It has been listed at $300 for at least two years, and he has rejected a ton of offers.

Never mind the fact that he has his first name as KOLBY and not KOBY.

If anyone ever sees any of the 2006 patches (with or without autos) at a card store or show, please let me know. I have a copy of all of the ones currently on ebay.

Since eBay has evolved into a BIN/BO-fest rather than an auction site, more often than not this is what happens.

Everything listed by this seller:

http://stores.ebay.com/CavalierCards

Nothing against the guy, but every once in a while, he puts up some INSANE, high-end Zimmerman stuff that I'd love to have. Prices are way out of my reach. I've made offers, but never got anything.

He's kinda like my own personal Burbank for Zimmermans

This card has been posted as a BIN/BO and live auction with an insanely high starting price. The two offers - both mine, both well over what I'm comfortable paying, both immediately turned down. I

I bet he gets over 250-300 once the football season starts. That Ultimate set has all the potential in the world to sell for absolutely stupid prices. Upper Deck obviously did something very right.

We are so willing to spend several hundreds of dollars on wax, yet we are too cheap to buy
a case hit or key card for that same amount. I always wonder what people think when they
offer me less than the price of a pack for a autgraph card. To me that just isn't worth it,
and Im not talking about 98 Just Minor cards either.

I don't even know who that guy is on that patch auto card, but there are 50 of them and Im
willing to bet there are TONS of sellers out there willing to sell it for far less than the
189.00 3 is rare, and a 1/1 you can name your own price, but 50, sorry not rare.

Wow, that same exact card has been sitting at the local flea market at $40 for a couple of years now.

The seller has been beyond unreasonable for months. The first two went off on ebay at $225 and 180. A month or so ago one went off around $235. I've offered $250 and the guy still won't budge.
