Soriano has 100 hits this season, of which 52 were for extra bases. Just noticed that today looking at stats and thought it was pretty impressive. He's not worth what the Cubs pay him, but I think some people have written him off completely, and IMO that's a bit premature.

He is a decent player, but with that contract he is not very good, as you stated.

He has not been a great fielder, but I think when one considers he has a second baseman for a decent part of his career, is the only player never busted for the 'roids to do 40/40 (and he did 39/40 another season) and he has over 300 homers and over 250 SB's, he's had a better career than people give him credit for.
