From 2001 to 2007 (his last year), Barry Bonds went hitless in 294 games, going 0 for 693.

His On Base Percentage in those 294 hitless games was .370!!! That is due, of course, to his 387 walks, including 138 intentional walks, in those games.

Of the 155 players eligible for the batting title in 2010, only 23 of them have a higher OBP than .370.

In case you are wondering, Bonds had hits in his 549 other games over that time span, with an OBP of .606.

Even eliminating the intentional walks, his walk total is crazy.

If I remember correctly, teammates claimed that when he was sitting on the bench while his team was batting, he would sometimes call out in sequence, the pitches that were being thrown by the opposing batter. PEs aside, there are few players that were as in tune with the game as he was.

Pedro Martinez had 10 in a row in 1999.

Randy Johnson had a 7 game streak in 2001, and has had four 6 game streaks. Pedro also has had one 7 game streak and one 6 game streak.

Nolan Ryan had one 7 game streak in 1977, and one 6 game streak.

Going back to 1920, those are the only players to have at least 6 in a row.

The last pitcher to have 4 in a row was Jake Peavy in 2007.

That is just sick by Pedro. If a player did that today his chrome/auto's would explode.

I just realized something about Pedro's streak.

It was 8 straight starts in 1999, and his first 2 starts in 2000.

After the 8 straight starts in 1999, he had a relief appearance, which was his last appearance in the regular season. I did my search by starts, not games, just in case there was a streak like Pedro's that included a relief appearance.

And Pedro didnt have the opposing pitcher to whiff 3-4 times a game too!

Even though Im sure the DH's back then couldnt touch him either in his prime.
