I was watching the game and rooting for him and of course anyone playing against the Gnats. The kid is an absolute beast. Especially when healthy. His September is a good season for many players.

Not trying to marginalize what Tulo is doing right now. I've said in a few threads that he is a man among boys right now. With the shorter schedule back then wasn't there only 2 or 3 weeks of baseball in September? Not 5 weeks like this year.

According to Retrosheet.org, the Yankees played a full month of September baseball in 1927, 27 games to be exact. The difference in games is made up at the beginning of the season, as the Yankees started 1927 on April 12th. The Rockies play 28 games this month.

The Atlanta suburbs
Sam Thompson had 54 RBIs in September 1895. RBIs weren't an official stat before 1920, and many sources don't consider records before 1901, but I thought I would include it in this thread.

The NL HR record for September is 16, by Ralph Kiner in 1949, so Tulo will tie that record with his next HR.

Richie Sexton had 5 HRs and 14 RBIs in OCTOBER of 2001, which are both MLB records (Sammy Sosa also had 5 HRs in October 2001).
