My favorite team, the Blue Jays, have never been in the race, but they've been playing some exciting baseball. Bautista's homeruns, the young rotation, etc. The color commentators over the weekend were talking about the remaining games and their possible implications. Finishing over .500 was a big one. They talked about "the integrity of the game and always fielding the best possible team", but the suggestion was that if the Jays clinch a .500 record maybe Cito will give some young guys more playing time. Also it'd be nice to have some guys pad their personal stats: Bautista hitting a few more homers, a couple of guys like Buck and Overbay reaching 20 HR (which Overbay has since accomplished).

More importantly, there's an outside chance that the Jays can be major spoilers in the AL East. If Boston can run the table from here to the end of the season, and the Jays can take 2 of 3 from the Yankees, things would get pretty interesting.

What's your team's outlook as September winds down?

Unfortunately the Tigers are done with all games that matter.

Now it's just about the following:
- Miguel Cabrera continuing to put up video game statistics so MVP voters won't ***** him
- Justin Verlander continuing to shutdown opposing hitters so he will at least get some 3rd, 4th and 5th place Cy Young votes.
- Rick Porcello has won 5 of his last 6 starts, would be nice to see him get one more good start to go out on.
- The other young guys (most of the rest of the team) building confidence to roll into next year

Well the Twins definitely have to start playing better heading into the playoffs if they want to stand a chance.. 4 game losing streak and in 3 of those 4 the pitching staff has allowed 10+ runs...

Yes, and that is why Buchholz and Lester get serious consideration for the Cy Young this year.
