Alright FCBers, here is my entry into the Player Collector Contest.
I started collecting Michael Cuddyer about 2 years ago just by chance.
At that time, I was a hard core Stan Musial collector and wanted to start a player collection of my favorite team, the Minnesota Twins, but it had to be a current player. Options to me were, Joe Mauer (too many collectors to fight with for cards), Justin Morneau (met him and he has ZERO personality with the fans so he's out), Nick Punto (tried this, but just couldnt get into collecting him). Then there was Cuddy. Went to a player signing of Cuddyer the year prior at a outdoor sports dealership in Hopkins. He was a down to earth guy, you could tell that he didnt let his status of being a Professional Baseball Player get to his head. He would chat with you, look you in the eye when talking and smile unlike the likes of Morneau and to be honest Mauer to an extent.
With the help of our own Flightposite, I got my collection off and running.
I picked up my first Allen and Ginter wood 1/1 from Bo, the 2008 IIRC.
When Bo sent me the card, in the package was the Red Bowman Heritage 1/1 and a GU autoed jersey for free.
He basically said, here is a start to your Cuddyer collection. Have I mentioned what a great person Bo is?
So without further ado, here is the Cuddy Collection!
