How would you like to get your hands on a piece of baseball history?News 12's Michelle Poedel shows us how.A Babe Ruth signed baseball has made its way to Mankato all the way from Burlington, Wisconsin. The ball belongs to Margaret Rudkowsky who inherited it from her late husband John who had the ball signed back in 1929.Not being a baseball enthusiast herself, Margaret has decided to put the ball up for auction. And that is where Willa Dailey and her Auction Services come in.Willa Dailey of Dailey Auction Services says, "There's something about this ball that just when you read about the boy who caught it and owned it all these year...just kinda gives you goose bumps... it's a neat story"The ball will come as a package deal including the signed ball, the scorecard from the 1929 game and a Babe Ruth stat book when it hits the auction block on Sunday.((SU))Poedel says, "If you want to bid on this piece of history, you can either do it live here on site, or live on this Internet... or live by phone"Willa Dailey says, "We scheduled it not only to be a live auction, but a simultaneous Internet auction so that everybody in the world can have a chance at this ball if they want it. Probably the most exciting thing about it is that it's going absolute... there is no reserve on this ball."Meaning it sells to the highest bidder... no matter what.Another exciting aspect of this auction item is the fact that they found a little surprise when getting the ball ensured for authenticity."We thought it was a single signed ball, that's all we could see. PSA however found under their microscope a very faint Lou Gehrig signature on it"A surprise that Dailey hopes will help raise the value of the ball on Sunday.Dailey says, "It's gonna be bragging rights for some lucky bidder at the end of the day"
