With the release of Topps Update, MCG prices have dropped dramatically. I bought a bunch last night for roughly $1 per card.

I've seen one thread of someone who redeemed a few and he was getting older cards. I'm wondering if others on the board are redeeming, and if so, are there still any good gems to be had? I'm tempted to buy more since it's so cheap now.

Also, do you think the prices may climb once the initial onslaught of Update MCG cards starts to die down? I have some from my case break that I'm planning to hold onto.

I bought 36 for less than a buck a peice early on on the bay. Got a 62 common and a 67 High #. + a couple others i might have shipped to see the condition, but others like 87 Rose and such will just sit.

I was getting some vintage early on, but thankfully, Topps fixed that for me. Most of them disappeared. I have a few un-redeemed codes somewhere... IDK why I keep going back to do them, and it is stupider that I am actually going to have most-all shipped to me. I doubt I will open them though.

Lately, I have been getting grade A crap. I love the concept, I don't like how it was set up...

I've redeemed 20. Some of the "better" ones:
85 Fisk
Tom Burgmeier 1972
Ron Guidry 1986
Clay Kirby 1972
Dave Kingman 1980
Garry Maddox 1977
1984 Highlight card Ryan/Perry/Carlton
Joe Morgan 1983 ew
Vida Blue 1982
Doyle Alexander 1976
Rip Repulski 1960

and my best....Luke Easter 1953

I also traded a Gene Stephens 1958 for 1959 Jim Pisoni since Pisoni is a Brave.

I love these things.

And I'm looking to trade for Braves if anyone wants to deal!

I redeemed my ten from a jumbo box of Update, and hit this:

Already paid to get it shipped, and I have a 1958 Senators team card on the way also, thanks to FCB member ethanbryer. This stuff is fun when you hit a nice vintage card!

I decided to do 20 more (I have 170 from my 2 case break). This time, I didn't do so hot. Most of the stuff was from between 1975-2000. Junk.

I did get a Lou Piniella card. That's pretty neat.
