After ESPN's 30 for 30 doc on Marcus Dupree (The Best there Never was) his cards have been on fire. His 1984 Topps USFL card was selling for $1-2 before the doc's release and now for $20-30. His 1990 Pro Set and Score Update NFL Rookie Cards are selling for $5+. I'm guessing you couldn't have gotten more than 25-50 cents for them a couple of weeks ago. Even his common cards from 1991-92 are selling for $1-2 (and sometimes more). If you have some laying around you might wanna get rid of them before everybody forgets about him again.
