I don't understand how some manufactured relics sell for more than actual game used jerseys, bats, etc.

What gives here?

No idea, but that is very wierd.

Maybe it is a misconception by some that the fake logo patch is real or something? Beats me...

Game used bat chip cards are a dime a dozen.

I thought you were going to say something about all the redemptions from Topps Sterling on ebay!! I can't believe Sterling now has redemptions! By the way, I see a whole lot of really crummy cards coming from these $240 boxes too....

many factors can go into it: a die-hard player collector (such as yourself) going up against another die-hard player collector, a set collector, and the fact that there are only 50 (which seems like a lot by today's standards) but if it is one of the first few to hit the market, they usually go for more.
