**Before I type anything else, I know this isn't the TTM board. I wanted insight maybe from some non-graphers. This, and I will get more traffic. If a mod wants to move this, they can.

I am going to be hitting up 2 Twins Caravan's at the end of January, and I would like to know what I will have everyone sign...

The only rules are... they have to be cheap and NO BASEBALLS.

I want to ask now, so I have time to gather everything up in time, and so I can change if the players change.

Here are the scheduled players that I plan to meet. I will be able to get 1 signature for all of them, except for Perkins, who I will be having my friend get a card signed for.

I will put by the name what I am thinking about, but I am listening to suggestions on all of them:

Danny Valencia: 2010 Topps (Update???) Black backround RC
Matt Tolbert: FY Chrome?
Dan Gladden: ?
Glen Perkins: 1. 2004 Just Rookies. 2. (this needs to be something cool)
Ben Revere: FY Chrome?
Trevor Plouffe: 2004 Just Rookies
Tony Oliva: Needs to be something old, cheap, and cool... I know those 3 words don't go together at all...
John Gordon: Baseball (this one is going to be rock solid and I won't change on it).

Any ideas?

Some ideas:

Dan Gladden: [ebay:326gv1u4] 370245986350[/ebay:326gv1u4]
Glen Perkins: 1. 2004 Just Rookies. 2. Your favorite card of him.
Tony Oliva:[ebay:326gv1u4] 400182529777[/ebay:326gv1u4] (you could TTM it to Ward in advance)

The Oliva would be sick!

I never get cards signed only pictures, baseballs, footballs, hockey pucks, helmets and jerseys. They are displayed much better since cards don't look that good displayed and are extremely small.

Agreed, but when you get hundreds of autographs a year, there is only so much space, and costs add up.

That is why I only go for top players/prospects.

for some of the guys you're not sure of what you want signed, what about a caravan flier printed up and signed?

i used to go to a lot of band instore signings/performances. aside from the usual stuff to get signed, i'd have them sign the flier announcing their instore aappearance as well. it's a unique and specific the event itself. if a caravan flier doesnt exist, it's pretty easy to create and print off a simple design.

Oliva:
If you want a GU card, Im pretty sure I have one around here somewhere, LMK and I'll send it to you
Otherwise, I agree with an 8x10. I can look around at the Twins Pro Shops in the TCs if you want

Gladden:
I started a 87/91 World Series ball a few years back at Twinsfest. Gladden would be a good start, and if you are at Twinsfest this year, you could add to it

Tolbert:
Allen and Ginter all the way

Perkins:
Game Used Jersey. Call the local Pro Shops (Roseville, Apple Valley and Minnetonka, and they one at Target Field) and see if they have any.

Here is my problem...

1. Money. I have 1 month to gather EVERYTHING up, not to mention changes in the schedule. I want to get items that are either not player specific, or if they are, very small and cheap.

2. Space. I have a room and a basement FULL of cards. I have no room for more stuff. Cards can be put in a plastic case. My study room doesn't have a lot of room left for stuff either.

3. Authentication. I would know that everything is real, but somethings I would want authenticated for consistency of my collection. I am not getting EVERYTHING authenticated, but the Oliva, the Plouffe 04, and the Perk 04.

How about a Twins pennant for most of the players and an Oliva 8X10?

Met Tony years ago at a show and he was very nice in person.
