He's a nice kid also. A very respectful high school senior. If you meet him, you'll be surprised how decent of a human being he is. He's a yes sir, yes ma'am kind of kid which goes well here.

It's humorous that they act like he's from hicksville or something. He lives in a suburb of KC (which has a metro area of 2.5 million people. Hell the county he lives in has over a half million people. There's not much prairie around here either because it's rather hilly. Anything that isn't hilly is either being built on or is farmland.

It's easy to portray someone has being from Hicksville when they are named Bubba.

It's a nickname his aunt gave him. He was a 10 lb baby. Of course he's a white guy so a white guy w/ the nickname Bubba is a hick.

Yeah but Derek Starling just doesn't have the same star power as Bubba Starling. Obviously he goes by Bubba and signs 'Bubba.' so I guess that's what he prefers.

I didn't say that made him a hick, but it does had to the perception that he is a hick.

VERY underappreciated by most I think. When I meet young people and they use manners I am very impressed with the kids and their parents. Thanks for sharing this Justin.
