Won't comment on Edmonds ability or lack thereof to stay healthy, but in the day he was one of the most exciting players I've watched in my lifetime. Whatever happened to board member givemeedmonds (or something like that)? He had an amazing collection

I remember the collector. Here are a few I have scanned.

sweet! maybe I can see him if he comes to Springfield(AA)

Very unlikely. I'm sure if he doesn't make the big club, he will go home.

It doesn't work like that. It is just a smaller contract and he has to make the team out of Spring Training. If he doesn't, he'll likely retire.

Edmonds was a great Cardinal and should end his career with them. He played some decent ball for the Cubs briefly, but he and LaRussa shouldn't have gotten in a peeing match that forced him out of STL. The Cards definitely could have used his bat last year after they stupidly traded Ludwick.

He's trying to get 400 home runs at any cost. Sitting at 397 now.

One of the saddest things I've seen in baseball was Edmonds hitting a home run for the Reds last season, I think it was a pinch hit job, too, and he hurt his leg jogging around the bases. Ultimately did him in for the last month of the season. Some kind of bone/tendon or bone/ligament disconnection in the bottom half of one of his legs. When that happens, I think it's time to bow out.
