Hi All, have this issue looking for help please. Purchased this card from my LCS about 4 months ago. Now I know the shop is very reputable and knows their vintage. I also had several buddies who do a TON of vintage check it out and everyone agreed it's authentic. No question about that part of it. The only issue is it has the pinhole up top and looks like it was fixed somehow looks in person to be whiteout or paint of some type. Problem is I sent it to PSA and they posted on their site "ALTERED STOCK" and on the sticker as we can se it says "ALTERED" and didn't grade/authenticate it. Questions is Does this mean its real and would be resellable, OR is it real and not able to move it OR should I push the card shop to refund the $ i paid for it? Thoughts and comments are needed. Thanks in advance

Send it to SGC. They'll grade it AUT (Authentic) and put a notation on the flip that it's altered.

The card is authentic
PSA are such kooks, why didnt they slab it as "A"?

One way is to scuff off the restoration as much as you can, resubmit it and hope for a PSA-1 or at worst a PSA-A

Or better yet send it to SGC and they will get it right.

I'll have to look into SGC, I've never sent anything over to them and I was looking for a turnaround on it. I'll go do my research on SGC with costs and turnaround time Thanks guys!

I have seen this card as I live in the area. No doubt that the card is authentic. But highly doubtful that you are able to get a refund as the alteration is very visible and I dont believe that Dave would have hid this from you. He freely told me it was altered and was selling it as authentic but altered. He told me he thought someone had used whiteout to cover the pinhole. This matches the story you give.
If you want it slabbed SCG is the route.
No matter what it is a very nice card and I thought very hard about buying it but decided to pass.

i know dave had said it as that however what PSA is telling me on my online subission is that it's an Altered Stock but the sticker says Just Altered. I talked to Dave already and he said he wants to see it when it comes in so he'll see it tomorrow after work and he'll go from there and if he decides not to refund it i'll send it to SCG
