i think we have to have some kind of "correction" when it comes to getting into THE HALL OF FAME.
too many players are getting in. thats my belief, and im entitled to that.

Now that Pettitte and Edmonds have retired, people are ready to put them into THE HALL OF FAME.

give me a god damned break. Take the WAR and all that other stat nonsense and shove it.

LETS RAISE THE "HOF" BAR ALREADY

Here's what the other HoF statistics on him, all of which point to no HoF and one says not even close

Player rank in (·)

Gray Ink Batting - 60 (416), Average HOFer ? 144
Hall of Fame Monitor Batting - 88 (189), Likely HOFer ? 100
Hall of Fame Standards Batting - 39 (165), Average HOFer ? 50

Blyleven who was credited with being helped by WAR, ranked as a HoFer in all three of the above.

While I wouldn't be quick to put Edmonds in the HOF, remeber that those numbers only take his batting into account. Edmonds' defence had a lot of value.

I agree, but it's too late. They let to many good players in already. You should be great to get in, but Jim Rice, Tony Perez and others were put in, so it is not relevant anymore. I say at this point, who cares!

Edmonds is first ballet in my own personal Hall of Fame and I doubt anyone would change my mind nor am I inviting anyone to try. Best CF in my life time not named Griffey. Just my opinion and I respect yours. These debates give me a headache. I therefore try not to lose any sleep over who you want to put in yours or who the Official Hall wants to keep out of theirs. Good discussion yes, worth raising my blood pressure over no

I agree we need to raise the bar for the HOF, but when you have subjective writers casting ballots who knows what will happen.....

I like Edmonds, but not a HOF'er

I think if Pettite would have put up the same numbers outside of NY he wouldnt be getting as much consideration.

Tony erez was an RBI machine and a huge part of the big red machine.
Rice was one of the most feared hitters of his era.

I think Andrew Jones, Devon White and Kenny Lofton were better CF's. Just my opinion. Oh and Tori Hunter.
