Lately, I have been unloading funds into the Gopher PC...

I was able to nab 3 Gopher cards out of the BBB section of the site, and that got me going... I am currently picking apart ebay for any deals on the 2 guys.

I am trying to get at least 100 of each player's base autograph, so approximately $500 per player (roughly), then I am trying to get one of each other card, but except for the Rosin base and the Kvasnicka School colors, I am willing to accept as many as I can get.

Trying to put Perkins aside for a little bit to fund this part of my PC.

As far as my other projects:

I am trying to build these sets:
2011 Topps Diamond Twins Team Set with EVERY card featuring a Twins player and Twins logo (that would be on the regular base), running from series 1-UH, so subset, team, and base player cards. No stat leaders, AS, etc etc. That should be pretty fun.

2011 ToppsTown. I like the look of the set compared to previous years, so I figured I would put it together.

2004 Bowman. I broke a jumbo box of this and have a good # on the base set, so I figured I would keep going.

1958 Topps. I have a decent start of about 20 cards, and only about $5 into it give or take.

Then I am going to do these:

I am thinking about funding a prospect stash, this one is iffy

Glen Perkins

selling off 99% of my collection before college, or getting rid of it I should say. I have been overtaken by base cards and I can barely function with them all. So, they are going to go. If I can give them away, I will to anyone that wants a few, but I want to try trading them off/selling them first. Then I am going to work on the "hits," all of my cheap GU/AU and serial numbered cards are going to go.

Basically, I am just going to keep my sets, my more "valuable" cards, and my player collections. I am going to sell all of my base and low end parallels out of the Meachem collection, and just keep the GU/AU and numbered cards.

I am trying to find a hardcore TTM collector who is interested in buying 3-4000 base cards for shipping costs... Then I can really get going.

So, what are you guys working on?

Vintage rookies. My top 5 wants are: 1952 Topps Eddie Mathews, 1909 e101 Honus Wagner, 1932 U.S. Caramel Babe Ruth, 1951 Bowman Willie Mays, 1911 Turkey Red Christy Mathewson. 3 of them aren't true rookies, but pre-war rookies are hard to find.

That's pretty cool.

I'm always adding to my Frank Thomas player collection. Slowly working on my Clemente, Maddux, Lincecum, and Rose collections.

Working on a few sets, including '56 Topps baseball, '95 Pinnacle Pins redeemed, '96 UD CC YCTG Gold, and others.

Trying to finish up my '65 to '92 run of OPC baseball packs in PSA 9.

Edited to add:

Very important...trying to finish my 1990 Topps Blackless set...but it seems rather impossible.

I am trying to go for the 58 Set, but I don't want to continue until I can print up a checklist and check off what I have.

Yeah, one of the first things I do is type up an excel spreadsheet with all cards, including variations, when I'm building a set. Helps A LOT.

single players:
nomar garciaparra
zach (k) daeges
mitch abeita
chris sabo
matt williams
mo vaughn
scott erickson (for the wife)

sets:
1960 fleer ted williams (any condition)
1968 topps insert (well i havent acquired any in 24yrs)
1997 stadium club matrix
2010 topps chrome football base
2011 diamond anniversary

other crap:
.25 box inserts. (any star player i can find in quarter boxes)
tommie frazier autos
90s inserts (the more colorful the more better)
promos, oddball, and sample cards
1980s psa 9 rookies (players i enjoyed watching as a younger skinnier guy)
red sox 100th anniversary autographed hats

its a lot of stuff but i have very little else to do while i wait to die.

I bought a few and was given a few, so I have a decent start. I will go ahead and use Excel to type a checklist up.

Thanks!

Curt Schilling collection mostly. I've essentially put my Ortiz collection on hold to focus on Schill. I want to build a set at some point soon. I did 2006 Bowman Chrome Xfractors which was a lot of fun so I might try that again in 2011 if I like the design.
