I would like to see what players people on here like...

for me,

10. Mariano Rivera- Being a Yankees fan, and since hes been part of the yankees for pretty much all my life... he deserves to be up here!

9. Jorge Posada- Same thing as above! And I have a picture of him hitting the first HR at the new yankee stadium, I like him a lot more!

8. Rickey Henderson- He was such a fun player to watch!

7- Evan Longoria- Played his first minor league game with my hometown team, and I followed him since day 1 (Of his minor league career.)

6- Hideki Matsui- Just recently realized how much I like him, came to the yankees the year I really started watching the Yankees, and was a vital part for their championship in '09!

5- Daisuke Matsuzaka- Its a shame he had to go to the Red Sox :(

4- Alex Rodriguez- Same thing, was a Yankee when I really started following baseball, and just has that emotion when he plays... just a great player to watch IMO!

3- Randy Johnson- Was toward the end of his prime when I started following baseball, but he went to the Yankees, and I loved watching him pitch!

2- Greg Maddux- My first baseball card was of him, and I saw his stats and was amazed! And I followed him since then.

1- JOba Chamberlain- I hate to say it, but he is my favorite, he is just my favorite player to watch!

1) Mark Grace - been a fan since he came up through the Cubs minor league system. He is my main collecting focus. Plus I had the opportunity to grab the domain name http://www.markgrace.com and built a website to showcase my collection and honor him.

2) Don Zimmer - love collecting a guy who's cards span 7 different decades. His life is a history of the game. I run http://www.collectingzim.com.

3) Yogi Berra - i'm a sucker for quirky baseball personalities.

4) Hack Wilson - tragic story, but a unique personality and piece of Cubs history. I also own http://www.hackwilson.com

5) Cap Anson - so much history, complex person, both a hero and a villan, baseball's first superstar. Can't afford much of his cards though. But I collect him virtually on http://www.capanson.com.

6) Buck O'Neil - if you don't love Buck, you don't love baseball.

7) Rabbit Maranville - see #3.

8) Ted Radcliffe - another ***** Leaguer I admire. Met him at a White Sox game, ties to Chicago, was a fine gentleman.

9) Jackie Robinson - courageous and competitive, historically significant

10) Cal Ripken Jr. - I admired the way he played and his personality, and like to pick up his cards at shows once in awhile.

1. Frank Thomas - childhood favorite whose play I admired and whom I saw much honor in; introduced to me by my uncle who was an early version of a prospector. Braves were idiots for passing on him.
2. Roberto Clemente - again, childhood favorite, whose style on and off the field was something I looked up to.
3. Greg Maddux - the pride of my Atlanta Braves during my youth.
4. Pete Rose - my Dad's stories about those '70s Reds teams had their influence.
5. Christy Mathewson - I had a poster of him on my wall at age 5 or so; anyway, it told a story about his time as a fullback in the first National Football League and I thought he was pretty bad.
6. Chipper Jones - he had a cool name and was nice to the kids, plus he turned out to be pretty darn solid
7. Lou Gehrig - no real reason, just seemed like a remarkable man
8. Tim Lincecum - the first guy I started collecting after graduating from college and spending a bit more money in the hobby again
9. Jason Heyward - hope yet for my Braves
10. Jarrod Saltalamacchia - no good reason, but I saw him on the Rome Braves and was impressed

Justin Verlander
Felix Hernandez
Matt Cain
Andrew McCutchen
Jason Heyward
Troy Tulowitzki
Mike Stanton (played Double A ball where I live and he also signed a few items for me)
