I came across an old Milwaukee Brewers minor league player Harry Strohm

2nd most hits in a career, and it looks like he 3 years to WWII

Clicked on this for no reason at all but dang....two consecutive 200+ hit seasons and the guy doesn't get called up from AA ball, that is rough! Shows the minors just weren't nearly as organized as they are today, some scout was not doing his job for about 2 yrs.

Found a few things on him. Baseball lifer who managed in the minors and died while he was a scout with the Texas Rangers.
The stories he could have told and the players he seen...

It is a better example of how good the minor leagues were back then. There were only 16 teams in the major leagues then. 8 in each league. So imagine if today, half of the players in the major league were in the minors. Pretty crazy.
