these are being scrapped BIG TIME! a friend of mine just scrapped 100 of these yesterday of various players ( he deals in coins, gold, sliver.) last year he did the same thing. a total of 57 Juan's are gone! and he is just one dealer! there were only 1000 minted by Highland Mint and 385 sold. they scrapped the rest in 93 (unsold). 4.25 oz of .999 silver. thats as good as it gets! i do not care how high silver goes. i will keep the ones i have. they will be super rare!

Very interesting.

Silver is at $34.57 as we speak, that means 4.25 oz is $146.93. Here's a recent Joe Montana sale [phil:1g68vuno]300530363156[/phil:1g68vuno].

And here's a set of Montana's currently for sale [phil:1g68vuno]200584254000[/phil:1g68vuno].

It does not appear that there is much of a "collectors" premium yet. From what I recall of coins, it takes some significant rarity combined with market demand for coins to rise above the melt value.

The Clark one was 1 of the rarest from the get go. Highland Mint themselves scrapped most of the unsold inventory and I guess Clark sold the least, b/c I remember seeing final print runs of those cards and Clark was 1 of, if not the lowest. I agree with Nosterbor. I don't care if silver reaches $150/OZ, I'm never selling mine. They are extremely rare as it is, and will only get rarer as more and more get scrapped.

I know that the silver pinnacle version of the Highland Mint Bagwell is always outrageous in price due to how damn heavy those things are. I'd like to get one soon just to guarantee that I have one before they all get melted down.
