This is an especially weak year for rookies.
Ramirez turns 27 next month!
We've been spoiled by the last few years of awesome young stars.

not necessarily.
pedroia looked like this last year

besides the higher avg, alexei kills him in RBI and HR. (and his .306 avg doesn't make him a slouch)
new question, favorite teams aside. if the chisox win it all this year, who had a better year respectively? pedroia 07/ramirez 08?

Pretty sure Ramirez is going against Longoria and not Pedroia from last year for this years ROY.

Ok let's dicuss:

Longo beats Ramirez in SLG%, OBP, BB, TB, RBI, HR, 2B, and runs.

Ok I really don't think this needed to be discussed?

i dont think you can count out alexei. if tb falls out and the white sox go far, you never know. people dont realize just how close this race is using the three big stats (avg/hr/rbi)

was Chicago now Glendale AZ
It will be Longoria

Jumped out early, made ALL Star, Rays great story, he's likeable/likable

If it turned out to be Alexei he is deserving as well

A lot closer than some may believe
(ie he is a middle infielder, you should haven't same slugging % as a conrer infielder who bats in mddle of lineup.....slugging not everything----P Rose a better player than higher slugging % gorman thomas or steve balboni)

Chciago fans appreciate how HUGE he has been for a team witha bunch of underachievers (3B, Thome, Konerko pre-August, Swisher, etc)

Basically it has been Alexei and Carlos Q from May-July with Dye having hot streaks from time to time

Longori a stud, Alexei a gem for Sox ....happy both guys succeeding

Tampa Bay falling out??? The White Sox have a MUCH bigger shot of falling out than Tampa Bay.
