1-2-3 1st inning on 5 pitches for him. First K.

92-94 FB, wicked slider.

Even more deadly 2nd inning for him. K'd 2 batters on 85 MPH changeups. 15 pitches so far.

His heater just got hotter. Now dialing up to 96-98, slider up to 88. 2 more K's. 5 total.

Aaron Fitt -- Heard a scout say, "He's gotten better." Another said: "Yeah, a lot"

Looking good. Struck out the side in the 4th. 4 IP 0 H 8 K

His slider, changeup and FB are all legit plus pitches, and he's using them all to perfection.

God, I wish I didn't sell out of his cards when I did.

I have these left:

I had two more but I sold them to break even on my investment. I wish I would have bought one or two of the black refractor autos.

Probably crazy of me to do, but I just picked up 2 Cole Chrome Wrapper Autos (#d/99) for $220 ea, which is about what they're fetching.

Hope I didn't just jinx him.

His perfect game is still intact. 11 K's through 6 innings. :D

3 of his K's came on sliders, 3 on changeups and 5 on FB's.

His left fielder made a diving catch to preserve it for him in this inning, too.

I just wish his offense could get him some frigging runs....

I think you will do fine on them, a huge media train of hype will start to follow this guy as we get closer to the draft and college world series. Wait till ESPN or Sports Illustrated gets a hold of him.

Well, the no-no is gone, as GA gets its first baserunner. He retired the first 19 batters.

Well, things have certainly changed. After an RBI single, GA's Kyle Farmer hit a 3-run jack off Cole. 4-0.

I take all the blame. :ugeek:

I was just going to say! Sorry J.P.!

That's the best thing about this game though. Even a team facing the best SP can turn things on a dime.

Does this do anything for his draft position?

@Jaypers413 If Strasburg's draft stock ranked an "80" on the 20-80 scale in 2009, what would Cole's rank today?

@aaronfitt I'll say 75.

Did we find the new hype train?

Just got back from the game and most of everything I witnessed has been said. His change up was just nasty tonight. And the slider was looking like a fastball with a ton of movement. His pitches started to look different in the 6th and it caught up with him in the 7th. The home run was probably the first pitch I saw him leave up and he knew it was gone right away. The Georgia team was pretty fired up after that. Cole was pretty calm and I've never once seen him lose his composure or anything like what I've heard about his high school days. I think any scout who wanted to see him have a bad game was impressed with how he handled it.
