Anyone know anything about these 50th anniv. buyback cards?

So are these considered SP? SSP?

Is Roger Maris, Sandy Koufax, Ron Santo, Mickey Mantle, Mickey Vernon, Jim Brewer, etc in the buyback program?

Re: 2011 Topps Heritage 50th Anniv Buybacks? (1 per 2 cases)

I have mixed feelings about this chase set. I understand it needs to be authenticated somehow so that it represents a 2011 release but don't you think it ruins the card with that foil stamp???

BTW, nice pull on the Mays.

just a nice bonus, this years pulls have been MUCH better than anything topps has ever done. The stamp is what it
is, none of these cards were in great condition to begin with. Topps did finally make it impossible to see through the
pack though, which is nice.

In 2001 and 2002 topps inserted via redemption, every single card from the 52 set and 53 set into packs. These were
not stamped.

I have never really been a fan of the stamp...

They should just put them in uncirculated cases

Cards are beat up most of the time. I wouldn't waste a nice uncirculated holder on well circulated cards.

I like the the stamp bit. Adds a nice touch to the cards for Topps fans.

Actually, I hit 3 of them in 6 boxes. They run better than every other box.

So you got less than the norm?

I guess that is true.

A case break on another forum yielded 5 buybacks- Cuno Barragon, Jack Baldschun, John Roseboro, Ken Hunt, Don Taussig.

I've been searching online but can't find any checklist for the buyback cards. Wanted to know if Roger Maris, Sandy Koufax, Ron Santo, Mickey Mantle, Mickey Vernon, Jim Brewer, etc were in the set.

The checklist will take quite a while to appear on Beckett.

Last years checklist has every card from the 1961 topps set on it, so it should be the same this year.

The cards are bought back in varying quantities however, and I've been told that some are as few as 15 copies.
Especially the single print high numbers.

It is just for modern Heritage collectors busting a box and saying, 'wow an original card from 1962' as opposed to serious collectors with PSA registries looking the finest PSA graded example of a particular set.

I like the stamp myself for the following reasons already pointed out.

I like the stamp, adds a little extra level of history.

FWIW I busted two boxes and got one and it's a beaut, here it is
