In Vegas attending the 2011 Industry Summit.
For those who dont know, its a conference where card store owners get together with distributors, companies, leagues etc. over several days.
Attendance is almost DOUBLE from last year (about 150) not counting leagues, dist, card companies.
Sunday (today) is the start but only two things were on tap.
First was the sign up/ registration.
Basically, sign in, get a "goodie bag" and attend a cocktail with some food and drinks. Meet old friends, etc.
The goodie bag was a duffle filled with some stuff, highest end was a random auto puck from a 2011 NHL all star (I got Danny Briere).
The first "formal" meeting took place after that where everyone got together in the room and introduced themselves along with soemthing that should be improved in the Hobby.
Redemptions were the hottest topic at this meeting, many people commented on that.
Sure, just about anything you can think of (lateness, low quality, lack of products, NFL lock out, Bowman Chrome over production, etc) was also brought up.
Then, right after this meeting ended, Brian Gray brought in The Worm, Dennis Rodman, to sign cards promoting the upcoming Pop Century product.
Ill be updating this thread and if anyone can add to it or has questions, please post it.
