While at the Vegas Summit, I forgot to take a pic of Leafs upcoming FB draft product.

The card I was hoping to get was Starlings "retro" card, one picturing him in Bo Jackson's famous Nike B&W photo (and in 1990 Score).

If Brian can post it here (if it hasnt been previewed already) I think everyone will like it.

Most football pads are much smaller than when Bo wore his. It would almost be impossle to cover his 'teets'.

If Bubba knew about this, he should have definately hit the curl circuit a little harder though.

Its almost comical. The Bo Jackson, an iconic image, shot with actual black & white film, using some lighting, and has some general depth to the photo.

The Bubba, shot in color and cheaply swapped to black & white with a post process makes the photo come off very cheap and unprofessional.

Thanks for the kind words...
Bubba has a 1000% better chance of being a baseball or football hall of famer than BO Jackson... wanna bet?

Point is, it is a salute to BO... and a testament to Bubba's athleticism...

At the end of the day, its not for evferyone... But for 25 lucky collectors, it will be.

Agreed. If you want to do a reprint of an iconic image at least do it right. The nips do add a nice touch though ::facepalm:: .

Outside of some perhaps closeted homosexual urges towards Starling with the continued mention of his nipples, I don't get why everyone is blowing up about this.

Instead of bagging the fact that this was clearly shot in color, then knocked down to B&W, why not crucify Leaf for probably shooting digital instead of on film? How about lynching them for using a typeset signature on the mock-up instead of his actual signature? I can just see some clown screaming "false advertising" because the real Starling signature doesn't match the mock-up.

So they paid homage to one of the "classic" cards of the hobby heyday with a whopping 25 cards and get railed on.

In the words of Judge Smails, "Don't you people have homes?"
