I never could stand Carlos Marmol i did not like him as a set-up man and i sure in hell can not stand him as a closer. 2 chances and 1 save + bs=1 loss. they could have signed Rafael Soriano! his WHIP last year was .802. Marmol's was 1.185. they should have signed Soriano.and traded Marmol!

Castro doesnt throw that ball to first, run still scores, but potentially only the one run, not both that came in, as the next batter grounded into the DP. Marmol will be fine, we was lights out the day before striking out the side. I love this time of year, 3 games in and people are already throwing in the towel.

At least Starlin is looking good with the bat and the Padres took the series from the Cards.

Starlins a star in the making. If you dont think Marmol is top 2 or 3 releiver in baseball you just dont know baseball. Il take him anyday

Why the hell would the Cubs want Rafael Soriano? If anything, they have been working on shedding payroll. They resigned Marmol, who also happens to be cheaper, and a better pitcher.

Every closer is going to have a blown save here and there. It's still only April. Plenty of baseball still to be played.

We're three games into the season. Step away from the ledge. I'd take Marmol over any other closer in baseball. Castro needs to work on his defense and decision making, but he's going to be really good. Relax. I'm more surprised that Byrd grounded into a dp. Today was not Marmol's fault, this one was all on Castro.

Reminds me an awful lot of Robbie Alomar or a young Jeter. He has amazing bat control for his age.

Does setting the all time record for strikeouts per 9 innings mean anything? As a closer, it matters to me.

Wow really 3 games into the season and your making these statements. The first few weeks for me in baseball is only an
extension to spring training, so wait and make these statement say around April 20th.
