Thought I'd do a little compare and contrast how cards are selling, no research done as of typing this line so lets see how they stack up thus far:

A.J. Green Exquisite /99 [phil:3t61bmor]180648339863[/phil:3t61bmor] - $65.50 shipped
A.J. Green Leaf /25 [phil:3t61bmor]180648339863[/phil:3t61bmor] - $78 shipped

Cam Newton Exquisite /99 [phil:3t61bmor]280653856079[/phil:3t61bmor] - $237
Cam Newton Leaf /25 YG [phil:3t61bmor]400206522836[/phil:3t61bmor] - $170

Jake Locker Exquisite /99 [phil:3t61bmor]280653857178[/phil:3t61bmor] - $102.50
Jake Locker Leaf Auto /25 [phil:3t61bmor]140530536992[/phil:3t61bmor] - $67

Blaine Gabbert Exquisite /99 [phil:3t61bmor]110669974844[/phil:3t61bmor] - $102.50
Blaine Gabbert Leaf /25 [phil:3t61bmor]350452175975[/phil:3t61bmor] - $92

Well a couple thoughts here.

#1 - there are lots more Leaf Autos to be had, Base, Young Guns, Refractor, Red Refractor, Blue Refractor and Super Fractor Parallels, so the /99 Exquisite isn't directly comparable to an /99 Leaf simply because there are plenty more. 99 Exquisite cards is it, that's all that exists.

#2 - Exquisite is a little earlier in the sales cycle and some of the auctions I've posted were really the first sale, so that's going to bump prices up some.

That being said, both are selling well and I'd say Leaf is going to hold its own against Exquisite, not too shabby. Also, two options this nice, this early in the season is simply fantastic from a collectors standpoint!

What do you think?

Exquisite has /25 parallels.

I think Leaf is definitely holding strong, but Exquisite is Exquisite, it will always be one of the most popular and highly sought after sets.

lol they're not even auto's, wtf
I like that they're not auto'd, I find it refreshing that they don't have to be auto'd in order to be selling for a nice amount.

That happens a lot less in football it seems but yes, they are the "non-auto gold refractors" of football.

and I agree, I'm just not sure if comparing them makes sense since there is only one /25 exquisite parallel and several different /25 leaf sets.

Oh, I wasn't comparing them, I was just saying that there are /25 parallels in Exquisite, I wasn't sure if you knew that or not.

Exquisites are selling like that without autos though, something that surprises me to no end. Both are nice cards though, like the logos on the Exquisite since so much of a player's brand is dependent on their uniforms in football.

A BIN for one #'d out of /99 was hit for $250

http://cgi.ebay.com/2010-Exquisite-Cam- ... 51989eaa22

/99's have sold for:

$150
$199
$200
$195
$228
$249
$240
$236
$250
$300

Impressive considering there's no auto.

Extremely impressive.

Also notable, that last year players like Blake Griffin had Exquisites before the season started with College Unis and they held value throughout the season even with other releases.

I genuinely think the overall market is underestimating the value of the NCAA stuff for the long haul, especially if it is not produced long term. Whether I like the collegiate team of a player or not it gives a unique option for the player collector.

Don't you folks see what has happened here? We're comparing Exquisite to LEAF! This is great stuff! To see the hobby evolve like this with a first year product making such a big splash is just awesome! I love it! I don't have a dog in the hunt either way but I am glad to see something nice pop up other than the normal stuff that we're so used to seeing.
