Already have a Photobucket but want to put those pictures on my site. Need some advice on the best way to do a gallery.

Here is how I have started...
http://oneill21.webs.com/1980s.htm

Very tedious to do, but I prefer it to the Webs.com Gallery application which one shows one full size pic at a time. I am planning to do one page for each year. O'Neill has at most 150 cards in a single year, so that would be 300 pics front/back with about 20 kb for each pic. Will it be too much to load? Any easier way to do it using the webs.com site builder?

I am not a computer guy so I would appreciate some input from those who have experience in this area. Thanks.

Not sure how to do it but I've always liked the layout of Drew's site.

Using JAlbum as he does here has got to be one of the best and maybe easiest ways to go. If you can code a bit you can customize most of the layouts and add your own backgrounds, etc. but you don't have to.

The Chameleon skin is a great choice, Gallerific is another.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will try to play around with those two and see if I can get it to work within my webs.com page. I want to try and have something displayed in site framework rather than open to a new page.

I noticed that both galleries had thumbnails which then opened to full-size images once they were clicked. Is that the best way to do it rather than have the full-size image displayed?

Not sure about Arles, but JAlbum has different skins that let you do both. I personally prefer having the thumbs on one side and the full-size image on the other, although this depends in part on how many images you're displaying within a page and their size...although you can limit the number of images per page if you want to.

I have been using JAlbum for a while as well and really like it. I've tried some other skins, but always go back to Chameleon

I like this:

http://www.curtschillingcollector.com/index.html

I PMed with him about the APIs he used to make it happen and looked into it a bit, but now I don't have the PM. It's probably more advanced that 15 minutes a page, but I really like the look. The only thing I dislike is that it turns horizontal pictures vertical in the thumbs, but then it does display them horizontally when you click into them. I assume there's probably a way to fix that anyway.

If you're interested, just drop him a note and he'll be happy to tell you about the tech.
