Evan Meek Holy Crap!!

I am doing the 2011 Topps Black #/60 Pirates team set and was blown away by the Evan Meek price recently.

But it appears he has a couple of very strong collectors out there.

For perspective I paid less for my Walker, McCutchen and Alvarez blacks together then the Meek brought.

Also I paid 1/2 of what the Meek printing plate brought for my same color Alvarez.

Meek is off to a terrible start this year. I hope he turns it around but he is not near as good as Hanrahan has been so I don't see him being the closer baring a trade anytime soon.

Also I didn't write down the sale, but I know one of his AS Jersey Letters from 2011 topps brought way over 100 bucks.

Not really, he is a set up guy. It appears though there are some strong buyers out ther for his stuff so if you listed it with a BIN you might be surprised what it could bring.

Is it possible Meek collects his own cards? I know in the past players have done this.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone hit it for $15 just because. Also this is for a 8th inning guy that should have about zero hobby love. His rare stuff brings more than a lot of established pros and some prospects.

i just picked up a red ref from 06 BC (rookie year) - what do you think itd pull?

The TC Red Ref from 2008 sold for $30 on BIN pretty recently. The 06 should do much better than that.

I am sure it will depend on if the guys buying the high end cards already have one or not or if they are buying multiple copies. I can't believe there are more than a few guys buying up his stuff.
