I hope Rick Porcello brings his A-Game today.

On another note, Logan Morrison has been raking lately. Hoping he can keep it going today too.

I'm just hoping the Twins can score a run, their offense has been horrible this year. Also watching Derek Lowe. I need some good pitching from my fantasy team.

Can anyone explain to me how the pitcher gets charged with an earned run when a throwing error allows a runner to score (he would not have scored otherwise)?

I want to know why a pitcher isn't charged with an ER if he has the error that allowed the run(s) to score.

If you are referring to Porcello, it became an earned run when Butler hit the double. The pass runner would have scoredeven if the throwing error had not occurred

Yes I am, and I know it would have become an earned run, but looking at the box score it was marked an ER immediately after the play (before the Butler double). Perhaps just a tentative marking until they know for sure?
