How good of a buy do you think Madison Bumgarner is? It seems to me, if he has one great outing his cards will skyrocket. Any other opinions? I picked up a Refractor Auto this week, and just wanted to field everyone elses opinions.

For these prices why not run the risk, spent 2-300 and see what happens

Based on market trends, the only way a player is a good buy after his debut and rookie season (if your only concern is future value) is if you think the player is either a) performing at a higher level than his card prices reflect or b) capable of performing at a higher level than he currently is. The hype aspect is basically gone once a player has become an established Major Leaguer, so you're banking on them becoming an elite player for their cards to climb in value (Tim Lincecum is a great example).
