MLB.com lets you vote up to 25 times before the AS game. Every year I vote once a week and actually vote who I think DESERVES to start based off their current season totals, regardless of team - slight bias may occur. When it gets close to the end of the voting, I then start to vote for my favorites (usually I don't want to see a guy starting the AS game, I'll vote for the second place guy in desperation).

Here is who I voted for this week:

American League:
1B - Cabrera, Miguel
2B - Roberts, Brian
SS - Lowrie, Jed (had to write him in)
3B - Beltre, Adrian
C - Martin, Russell
DH - Hafner, Travis
OF - Bautista, Jose
OF - Fuld, Sam
OF - Gordon, Alex

AL was pretty slim pickings as you can see. NL was tougher, especially in the OF.

National League:
1B - Votto, Joey
2B - Weeks, Rickie
SS - Tulowitzki, Troy
3B - Jones, Chipper
C - McCann, Brian
OF - Berkman, Lance
OF - Braun, Ryan
OF - Kemp, Matt

Feel free to voice your opinion

Not a bad list, but how did you leave Ethier off and put Berkman on?

like i said, the NL OF was tough. I chose to go with power and high average instead of just high average.

Berky is hitting over .360 with 6 bombs...Ethier only has 2 homers. It's the same reason I added Kemp and left off Matt Holliday.

I think I'll just pop in Wieters 25 times a day to make up for the soon to be falling O's attendance... :?

It does suck some that smaller markets tend to get screwed because of attendance numbers. Although, it's still better than the NBA, and the Chinese influence skewing things in past AS games.

Granderson deserves an OF nod so far.

"-slight bias may occur"

Granderson is only second to Bautista in HR since September of last year.

sooo...granderson should be on there and not Bautista?

and i didn't realize you were to factor in the 2010 month of september when voting for the 2011 all star game ::facepalm:: DOH!

.294 with 7 HR seems pretty good to me.

SS - Castro, Starlin
3B - Sandoval, Pablo
C - Posey, Buster
OF - Holliday, Matt (Couldn't bring myself to vote for 1 Dodger, let alone 2 which would have been Ethier)

OF - Kemp, Matt

Robinson Cano and Alex Rodriguez seem like the better Yankees to make an argument for.

Arod - .340 BA - 5 HR - 17 RBI
Cano - .313 BA - 5 HR - 15 RBI

I didn't realize that one-sixth of the season was a sufficient enough sample to pick All-Stars two months from now.

Really, MLB, you can't open voting on Memorial Day and still get an "accurate" read on who's an All-Star?
