When Trevor Bauer strikes out 15 in a CG, with only 2 BB, 4 hits and 2 runs against him and still doesn't win, you wonder what happened.....

His opponent, Josh Osich, was just better -- he pitched himself a NO-NO against UCLA. One BB, 13 K's.

Truly impressive.

It's becoming even harder to believe at this point that Cole is going to be even in the top three picks, let alone ahead of Bauer now.

Wow, what a performance by both guys. It's always impressive when a guy takes his game to the next level against a great opponent like Osich did.

As for Cole, I still say he is the first pitcher taken. A pitcher that can locate 2-3 good pitches can dominate at the college level without having a great fastball. However, it's that heater combined with good results that will get you drafted #1.

No, it isn't. Though it is surprising that Bauer isn't getting more hype.
